Privacy Policy
Personal City is a recruitment agency operating in Israel. We process personal data of candidates (Israeli citizens and foreign workers holding valid work permits) and employer-company representatives. This document explains what data we collect, why, how we keep it, and what rights you have.
Who we are and which law governs us
personal.city is owned and operated by Personal City, registered in the State of Israel. We process personal data under the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law (חוק הגנת הפרטיות, 1981) and the related Data Security Regulations (תקנות הגנת הפרטיות (אבטחת מידע), 2017), and with applicable international standards when working with foreign nationals.
What data we collect
We collect only data necessary for job matching and contacting you:
- Identity data: first and last name, date of birth, citizenship, residence status in Israel, passport details and expiry date (for foreign workers).
- Contact details: phone, WhatsApp, email, city of residence.
- Worker profile: gender, languages, work experience, desired job category, schedule (shifts, hours, days per week), willingness to live at the employer site and have meals provided.
- Documents: work permit, passport / ID photos — only if you upload them yourself when filling out the profile.
- Work history: companies, roles, start and end dates — used for future recommendations.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, visited pages — used for security and site analytics.
Why we use your data
Data is processed strictly for these purposes:
- Matching vacancies to your profile and connecting you with employers.
- Contacting you via WhatsApp, phone or email regarding employment opportunities.
- Verifying that your status complies with Israeli law (for foreign workers only).
- Fulfilling our obligations toward employer companies.
- Complying with Israeli tax and labour authorities.
Who we share data with
We do not sell data to third parties. Sharing is possible only in these cases:
- Employer companies considering your application (only with your explicit consent for a specific vacancy).
- Israeli state authorities when required by law (immigration, tax and labour inspections).
- Technical contractors (hosting, email and SMS / WhatsApp providers) — only to deliver the relevant service and under confidentiality obligations.
Foreign workers
If you are a foreign worker holding a valid Israeli work permit, we additionally verify the permit number and expiry. This data is stored encrypted with access limited to staff responsible for recruitment. We do not transfer your data outside Israel except when an employer based abroad explicitly requires it and you have provided separate consent.
Retention periods
Active-profile data is retained while your account is active. Following a deletion request, personal data is removed within 30 days, except information we are legally required to retain under Israeli tax or labour law (typically up to 7 years).
Your rights
Under Israeli law you have the right to:
- Obtain a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccuracies or updates.
- Request deletion of your profile (subject to the mandatory retention noted above).
- Withdraw previously granted consent for processing or sharing with a specific employer.
- File a complaint with the Israeli Database Registrar at the Ministry of Justice (רשם מאגרי המידע).
Cookies and analytics
We use technical cookies (sessions, authentication, language preferences) and analytics tools to evaluate site performance. We do not set advertising or behavioural third-party cookies without your consent.
